Casa Bambu

Located on a sloped lot in San Jose, Costa Rica.

The concept of the house is to create a simple modern home that responds to the site in order to create a private indoor/outdoor experience. The site slopes down to a giant bamboo forest. The house takes the form of interlocking rectangular volumes that open up to the garden space. This space, bounded by the forest, forms a private outdoor room and expands the perception of space of the home.

Materials are natural, raw and textured.
