Casa Ramas

Uvita, Costa Rica

A cantilevered hillside house above Uvita whose volumes step down a steep slope, projecting into the jungle canopy to capture panoramic views of the Pacific and the valley below.

Perched on a steep hillside above the Pacific coast town of Uvita, Ramas is a house designed to reach outward — its cantilevered volumes extending like branches into the jungle canopy.

The design works with the dramatic topography rather than against it, stepping down the slope and opening to panoramic views of the Central Valley below.
